EUに加盟して以来、学校制度が大幅に改正されているのは、誰でも予期できるでしょう。プラハでは三歳からの子供の90%が、一般には無料でmateøská školaと呼ばれる幼稚園に通っています。
6歳から義務教育が始まります。特別な援助が必要な子供のためには特殊学校が用意されていますが、一般の学校でも援助ができるように準備が進んでいます。
駐在員は子供達をインターナショナル学校に通わせるのが一般的です。プラハには多くの国際学校があり、この街がモダンである象徴と言えます。しかしヨーロッパのどこでもそうであるように、授業料は高額です。
